A Step in the RIght Direction- DCAA Issues Updated Incurred Cost Submission Guidance

In what should be welcome news to contractors, the Defense Contract Audit Agency (DCAA) has updated the Checklist for Determining Adequacy of Contractor Incurred Cost Proposal and the Incurred Cost Electronically (ICE) Model for Incurred Cost Submissions (ICS). The likely result could be fewer audit requests during the adequacy determination and shorter lead times for auditors to make adequacy determinations. The updates to these checklists are the first to be made since 2012.

Although DCAA wrote the adequacy checklist for its auditors, contractors may also use the checklist to ensure the adequacy of their ICS.
